Of course, kids of the day may have found the wrappers an enticement, they were no doubt torn open and tossed out with startling regularity. There are 48 cards in the set - and while none are particularly easy to find, the last 12 numbers are extremely scarce. |

The Gum Inc. 1940 72 card issue of Superman is among the most popular of pre-war issues with collectors. The card fronts feature beautiful color artwork detailing the exploits of the famed super hero - the reverses sport well-written narratives. The cards 49 through 72 are much more difficult to find but the entire issue is fairly scarce and in high demand. |

Davy Crockett was rivaled only by Elvis in 1956 as Disney rolled out the multi-part drama on its new television program. Coonskin caps became part of the pre-adolesent experience and trading cards soon followed. Topps released two series of 80 cards in 1956 featuring photos from the series - an initial series of Orange backed cards followed by the tougher series of Green backs. |

whether they be Science Fiction, Historical Interest, War Stories or
Entertainment figures.
Competing on the shelves with more popular Sports cards, the Non-Sports
issues were frequently found with very colorful and often intricate
wrappers and display boxes. In many cases, the wrapper and pack are
miniature works or art - often more interesting and appealing than the
cards themselves.
