-71 OPC HockeyOPC's third consecutive issue for the Canadian market featured 264 cards released in two series. The design is identical to its Topps american counterpart but - as with the previous two issues - OPC scooped Topps with the inclusion of the rookie card of Bobby Clarke. |
-72 OPC HockeyProbably the most popular of the O-PEE-CHEE issues to date, the 1971-72 set mirrored the design of its American counterpart, but improved the importance of the set through its unique inclusion of several key rookie cards. The set highlights include the rookies of Guy LaFluer, Rick Martin, Rick MacLeish, Reggie Leach, Butch Goring and Marcel Dionne to compliment the rookie of Ken Dryden - the Topps' release included only the Dryden. |
-73 OPC HockeyO-PEE-CHEE's 340 card 1972 release was the largest major hockey set to date, in large part due to the inclusion of expansion teams, the Atlanta Flames and the New York Islanders, plus the final series of 52 cards featuring World Hockey Assocation players. The WHA cards show many teams in which that city has no other hockey franchise (e.g., Cleveland, New Orleans and Houston) as well as cards of transplated NHL veterans Bobby Hull and Gerry Cheevers. |

Topps Hockey Topps issued this colorful 198 card set in 1973. The set includes some key rookies including HOFer Billy Smith, along with Broad Street Bombers Bill Barber and Dave Schultz. The set contains 66 cards which were double-printed. Card number 10 - the 3rd year card of Ken Dryden - was not printed in the OPC version of the 1973 set, making it in high demand for collectors.

-76 OPC NHLThe 1975-76 OPC set consisted of 396 cards - the first 330 of which were identical to the Topps issue of that year. Card 395 was never issued but the set contains two different checklists bearing the number 267. Key rookie cards in the set were Pierre Larouche and Clark Gilles.

-76 OPC WHAIn 1975 OPC issued its 3rd major hockey release featuring the players of the WHA. The card design is very sharp - an improvement perhaps on the league itself. During the season, the Minnesota Saints and Denver Spurs both folded - the latter completing only 41 games of its schedule. The Winnepeg Jets led by the Golden Jet Bobby Hull won the Avco Cup. The set includes two cards each of HOFers of Gordie Howe, Gerry Cheevers and Bobby Hull - plus the rookie cards of Mark Howe and Robbie Ftorek.
