The initial set of these popular collectibles, the Square Color Base design of bobble head mascots debuted at Major League Stadiums in 1960. The set featued 10 bobbles, plus an ultra scarce Washington Senators (pre-relocation to Minnesota). Two of the bobbles - LA Angels and SF Giants - can also be found on wood bases. The set features mascot heads of the Orioles and Pirates only - the Cubs and Reds are featured with Boy Heads here. |
After a successful launch in 1960 at Baseball stadiums, the Bobble Company released several sets of Bobble Head football team mascots during the 60s. The most widely collected from among the earlier Bobbles is the 1961-63 NFL Square Regular Base set - an improvement on the initial 1961 set which featured wood bases. The set contains many difficult to find Bobbles including Cleveland, Dallas and the expansion Minnesota Vikings. |
Much more scarcely produced than its couterparts, the 1961-63 NHL Square Base of six original teams provides a collectors challenge. The key to the set is the Boston Bruins Bobber which is quite difficult to find. The attractive set of six also features the Canadians, Rangers, Maple Leafs, Black Hawks and Red Wings. |

Widely collected and highly popular with collectors, the 1963-65 Green Base bobble heads features the colorful mascots at their finist. The set contains several variations - including the ultra-difficult KC Athletics Dark Blue Hat - which also add to its appeal. The key bobble in the set is the Chicago Cubs mascot head doll, but many others are a bit tougher including Anaheim and Washington. This set represents the final appearance of Milwaukee, Houston Colt 45s and the LA Angels. |
Player Double 0 took to the concession stands between 1965 and 1967 as the Bobble Company continued its release of its colorful series. The NFL colors and emblems are striking as football fans will attest. The set introduces the expansion Falcons and Saints.

The most widely distributed Bobble baseball set, the 1966-71 Gold Base spans baseball's expansion era, containing two examples representing Kansas City - Athletics and Royals - as well as the final appearance of the Washington Senators. The Houston Astro Shooting Star uniform variation is among the most sought after - and expensive - Bobbles of the era. The set marks the only appearance of the Seattle Pilots Bobble.
