1956 Topps Pins

One of the earliest Topps specialty issues, this 60 pin set was sold in a box picturing with a piece of bubble gum for five cents. The set features a full color photo of the player with a pin clasp on the reverse. Several pins are significantly scarcer than the rest of the set. The set also features many big names such as Mays, Snider, Williams, Robinson, Aaron, Banks, Kaline, Hodges and Berra. The short printed pins are Stobbs, Diering and Lopez.

1964 Challenge Yankees

Hassenfeld Bros. produced this very popular card and dice game in 1964 and 1965 - just as the actual Yankee dynasty was beginning to crumble. The set has 50 cards of Yankees players and Major League All-stars which contain photos, facsimile signatures, biographies and statistical highlights. In addition to the Whitey and the M and M boys, the set features HOFErs Aaron, McCovey, Yastrzemski, Mazeroski, Marichal, Matthews, Snider and Kaline.

1964 Topps Giants

This premium set was issued in separate wax packs by Topps during the summer of 1964. The oversized cards may be one of the company's most unique - full color photos with almost a postcard motif featuring the stars of the day. Though off-grade cards are readily available, high grade examples are much harder to find due to the condition sensitive card size and stock.

1964 Topps Stand-ups

These standard size cards released by Topps in 1964 were the first since 1951 to be die-cut. The 77 cards in the set feature color photographs of the player with yellow and green backgrounds. Directions for folding are on the yellow top background and when folded, only the green background remains. 22 cards in the set were single-printed including the last card, Carl Yastrzemski, which along with the Mantle is the key to the set.

1967 Topps Red Sox

This 33 card test issue was very similar to the Pirates stickers issued by Topps the same year. The set features players, coaches, and slogans in support of the 1967 Red Sox team - which unbeknownst to Topps would overcome 100-1 odds and win the AL pennant. The set is one of those rare times when the popularity of a test set goes beyond its scarcity. The set features two Yastrzemski and Tony Conigliaro stickers. Given the significance of the Impossible Dream Red Sox, this is a must have set for any Bosox fan!

1967 Topps Test Pirates

This 33 card test issue was very similar to the Red Sox stickers issued by Topps the same year. The set features players, coaches, and slogans in support of the 1967 Pirates team. While the set includes two Clemente and Stargell stickers, they are especially popular with collectors because of the inclusion of virtually every player on the squad including the likes of Jesse Gonder, Pete Mikkelsen, Billy O' Dell and Jim Pagliaroni. A must for any Pirates fan!

1968 Topps Posters

Topps sold these 9 3/4" by 18 1/8" posters in a separate wax pack with its own gum. The posters feature a large color photo of the player with a star at the bottom containing the player's name, position and team. The set features many stars including Mantle, Mays, Yaz, Aaron, Clemente and Pete Rose.

1969 Topps Super

Topps issued this scarce premium set in wax packs in limited availability throughout the US. The 66 card set was issued in generic wax packs with "Super Baseball" stickers affixed to the front. The set is a HOFer bonanza featuring Mays, McCovey, Seaver, Williams, Jenkins, Killebrew, the Robinsons, Yaz and many others. Mickey Mantle is featured despite having retired in March of 1969 and Reggie Jackson in his rookie season.

1969 Topps Stamp Books

Unlike prior stamp releases, Topps included 24 separate stamp albums for the 1969 Stamp set. Each album contains a photo and statistics for each of the players released in the 240 stamp set along with facsimile autographs. The design is nearly identical to the stamp booklets released with the 1969 Football 4-1 stamps - although that release was a wax pack insert and the 1969 Baseball stamps were sold in separate packs - accounting for their scarcity.

1969 Topps Stamps

Topps released a 240 stamp issue in separate wax packs in 1969. The stamps were issued in strips of 12, and featured many of the game's top stars. Twenty Four stamp albums were also issued one to a pack for affixing the stamps. Several players exist on multiple strips. The set contains all the stars of the day such as Mays, Aaron, Banks, Rose and Mantle.

1969 Milton Bradley BB

In 1969, Milton Bradley issued a 296 set in the style of the popular Strat-O-Matic Baseball cards of the time. The large boxed set features photos and personal information of all the major stars of the period.

1969 Topps Team Posters

Topps 1969 Posters were issued in separate wax packs, one per team. Slightly larger than the 1968 posters, the 1969's were 12" by 20". Each team poster contained 11 players including many stars. The posters were folded many times before packaging making them condition sensitive to tearing and creasing. A popular set for advanced collectors.

1970 Chemtoy Superballs

In 1970, Chem Toy and MLB teamed up to offer a 285 count set of "superballs" with Major Leage player photos included on the inside. The set features nearly all the HOFers of the day. These collectibles are highly sought by the advanced Team collector due to their scarcity and unique design. The set is complete at 285 balls - 12 from each NL team and 12 from each AL team except Minny, Chicago and Oakland.

1970 Milton Bradley BB

Except for the slightly larger size, the 1970 Milton Bradley Official Baseball card set is similar to the 1969 variety. The major difference between the two is in size, the 1969 version of the game was issued in an oversized box and contained 296 cards; the 1970 version was only available in a 'travel size' game box and featured only 28 cards. As with the 1969 version, all player logos have been airbrushed from the caps.

 1971 Greatest Moments New Inventory

This scarce Topps issue is extremely difficult to find in high grade condition due to its black borders and unusual size and design. Check the population report on these - possibly the most difficult issue of the 70s. The set is prone to several defects - tilting due to the cards unusual size, chipping due to the black borders, and poor registry and focus. Although the set was distributed in a very limited manner, several numbers seem to be nearly impossible to find in high grade.

1971 Topps Supers

Topps again produced an oversized set of Supers on thicker cardboard. The photographs in the 1971 Super set are different than those of the 1971 regular issue on the front, while the reverses are basically identical to their counterparts. The set size was enlarged to 63 cards in 1971, eliminating single prints.

1972 Topps Posters

Issued as a separate set rather than as an insert, this 24 poster test issue may be extremely difficult to find in any condition. Topps printed the posters on very thin paper, making them fragile for tears especially around the standard folds. The set features most of the major stars of the period and is very popular among advanced collectors.

1973 Topps Comics

Strictly a test issue, this 24 count set is only found without any folding - meaning it was never actually distributed as intended as an inside wrapper for gum. The comic combines a color photo and facsmilie autograph with a comic-stye presentation of the player's career highlights. The set is highly sought by advanced collectors.
