1980-2001 Perez-Steele HOF

Perez-Steele Galleries produced a limited-edition set (10,000 each) of beautiful art postcards dedicated to members of the Hall of Fame. Beginning in 1980 and continuing through 2001, the Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcards have become the standard bearer for collecting HOF autographs. The Cards were sold by individual series - 15 in all. Many players became deceased shortly after their Postcard was released, making several extremely difficult to complete a signed set. Among these extremely tough autographed Perez-Steele postcards are Alston, Ruffing, Hoyt, Averill, Cronin and Satchel Paige.

1985-95 Perez-Steele Greatest Moments

Buoyed by its success with the on-going Hall of Fame postcard set, Perez-Steele Galleries started another series of beautifully designed postcards. The Greatest Moments series was modeled after the classic 1911 Turkey Red Cabinet card. Released over a 10 year period by series beginning in 1985, the Greatest Moments series is extremely popular with autograph collectors. Perez-Steele Galleries cut production on this numbered, limited-edition set from 10,000 to 5,000 - making this set desirable as well as scarce.

1989 Perez-Steele Celebration

To commerate its 10 year anniversary in 1989, the Perez-Steele Galleries issued a 44 card set known as the "Celebration" postcards. Again the set features Hall of Famers in beautifully designed artwork. The set was intended to feature all living hall of famers - though not all of the players gave signed on. Sometime between the design and the release, three players - Lefty Gomez, Judy Johnson and Bill Terry - passed away making the autographed set complete at 41 cards.

Perez-Steele Master Works Auto

The fourth and final Hall of Fame art postcard offering from the Perez-Steele galleries was called Master Works. Distributed from 1990 to 1992, the set featured 10 different Hall of Fame players - each appearing on five distinct designs, four of which were superior reproductions of turn-of-the-century cards such as Ramley and Goodwins. The ten subjects featured includee Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Willie Mays and Carl Yastrzemski.
