1953 Topps Baseball Archives Signed Topps produced this 337 card set in 1991 as a follow-up to its popular 1952 reprint issue. The set reprinted 273 of the original 274 1953 Topps cards and then added more than 50 players who didn't have original 1953 cards - legends such as Ted Williams and Hank Aaaron. The set's production was limited but the collector demand was primarily for Autograph seekers, looking to build an economical version of the signed 1953 set. |

Former pitcher Jim Bouton founded the Big League Cards company during the 80s. The company produced custom baseball cards, and was used by little leaguers and unknown big leaguers alike to create authentic looking cards for themselves. Collectors used the company to create cards in order to complete their team sets - creating a potential signed piece for players who did not have a contemporary card during their careers. |
